On August 16th, 2013, we had the opportunity to film one of most memorable weddings of the year! Margot and Joe incorporated many of their own personal touches into their wedding celebration, making both their church and reception really feel like "home". Capturing these moments on film was so special for us! Margot got ready at her parent's house in Hingham with her beautiful bridesmaids, and Joe was with the groomsmen over at the cozy Red Lion Inn, where they would later have their reception. They were only a short trolley ride away from their ceremony at Old Ship Church. The church aisles were decorated with a Boston Red Sox Banner for the "brides" side, along with a New York Yankees Banner for the "grooms" side. Another unique decoration were various posters about marriage that were written and illustrated by Margot's theater students from Promise Academy. These simple statements about love in the eyes of a child were beautiful. Reverend Kenneth Read-Brown shared some great words of wisdom and advice on marriage. I was truly blown away by Margot and Joe's vows, especially when Margot went "off-book" and spoke about their relationship, mentioning some difficult times when they have supported each other, and the amazing love they share. There were many tears, but also smiles and laughter when Margot declared her never-ending loyalty to the Red Sox :) It was easy to see that these two had the kind of love that was just "meant to be". After the ceremony, we took the trolley ride over to Hingham Bathing Beach for their photo session. The location was picture perfect, sunny blue skies with the sandy beach in the background. Margot and Joe's dog, Spanky, made a special appearance in the cutest dog tuxedo I have ever seen!! He was so handsome, I just had to include him in the film :) The reception was a blast, and seemed to go by so quickly. Their family and friends gave great speeches, my favorite being the surprise song Joe's dad had written about Margot!! We were so happy to be a part of this special celebration. Margot and Joe, we wish you nothing but the best and many many happy years to come…and we agree with the writer of the poem that was read at your ceremony... "I know you two will make life beautiful…" |
