The opportunity to make this film was a gift, and I will treasure it forever. I knew I wanted to capture the family of "3" before they became "4", so one evening I joined the O'Neill's for dinner, (one of the healthiest meals I have ever eaten), and filmed a bit of their evening routine. When the evening came to an end, I was full of emotions. I couldn't wait to film the delivery, but I was full of nervous excitement. When would I get the call? How should I capture these moments? This was going to be my first time seeing a baby being born, let alone filming the birth!! I better not pass out in the delivery room. :/ There were a lot of unknowns that day, but the one thing I was sure of was that the strength of my friend Megan was going to amaze me and I was right. With the support and prayers from her family, the amazing St. Joseph's midwives, and her Doula, Mari, she was able to delivery the baby without an epidural! I was in awe. From the second I arrived to the moment I left, (along with a several sleepless nights afterward) I was overwhelmed with hope and joy. I don't think I can describe in words what this experience meant to me...It is something I will cherish and hold close to my heart always. I couldn't be happier for my friends, Megan and Matt, and I truly enjoy watching their family grow. I know these two boys have the best parents anyone could ask for- Declan and Brian, you are loved more than you will ever know!! |
